Tummy Tuck
A tummy took, more
properly referred to as abdominoplasty, is
a method of cosmetic surgery that targets
the stomach and abdomen. Excess skin and fat
from the middle and lower abdomen is removed
and the muscles in the abdomen wall are tightened.
The most frequent subjects of the operation
are women who do not plan to have any more
children, and others who cannot manage to
remove abdominal fat deposits through diet,
exercise and other traditional methods.
You usually have a
choice between a complete abdominoplasty which
takes from two to five hours. It takes four
to six weeks to revoke and for the first ten
days or so they will feel pain similar to
bruising. A supportive binder is usually worn
and patients are encouraged not to smoke during
this period. A partial abdominoplasty takes
one to two hours and involves less recovery
time.
As with all surgery,
tummy tucks carry certain risks and careful
consideration should be taken before opting
for this procedure.
