Liposculpture
Liposculpture is the
practice of using liposuction to create a
more desired body shape. It is a form of cosmetic
surgery in which fat is removed from certain
target areas. It may also involve inserting
the fat into other areas that the patient
wishes to enhance, alternatively, artificial
implants can be used to enhance areas.
Liposculpture may seem
like an easy alternative to diet and exercise
but medical guidance holds that it is not.
It can be expensive, time consuming and very
painful. As with all surgery, it carries with
it certain health risks.
It is not considered a weight loss method,
with typically less than 10 pounds being removed.
This highlights the procedure's sculpting
function. It is designed to remove fat from
areas that prove to be very difficult despite
a healthy diet and exercise. There is also
the issue that because of blood loss, there
is a limit to the amount of fat that can be
removed safely in a single session.
Liposculpture can cause
the appearance of dramatic weight loss due
to it's sculpting properties.
