Drug Rehab
Drug rehab is another
name for drug abuse treatment. It is also
often referred to as detox or recovery. The
type of drug and the length of time the drug
has been abused usually determines the type
of drug rehab treatment needed and the length
of time it takes.
The first step is for
a person to admit they have a problem abusing
a drug or drugs to begin with. After that,
a good counselor is needed to offer the proper
drug abuse treatment options. In many cases,
a short stay in the hospital will be necessary
for those withdrawing from a drug's affects.
Nausea, vomiting, hallucinations, extreme
anxiety and paranoia are some of the more
common drug withdrawal symptoms.
Drug rehab for serious
drug abuse should never be undertaken without
proper medical care. Drug withdrawal can cause
seizures and other medical conditions that
are quite serious and need proper monitoring
by a healthcare staff to ensure the patient
comes to no further harm while going through
drug withdrawal.
