Balding Treatment
Balding treatment can
be anything from creams to surgery these days.
It is no longer necessary to settle for being
bald, or worse, having poor surgical hair replacements
or toupees. Rogaine (Minoxidil)
is perhaps the most common balding treatment
available today and offers great results for
many men, but it is less suitable for women.
Finasteride or Propecia is another common
balding treatment. These two medications are
the only medications for hair loss
treatment that have FDA approval at present.
Hair transplants have
increasingly become good balding treatments
as surgical procedures for them has improved
radically in the last ten years alone. The
cost of the surgery or multiple surgeries
sometimes prohibit people from having hair
transplants or hair restoration done. Insurance
will not cover the costs of balding treatments,
except in cases of hair loss due to chemotherapy
or radiation treatments. In those cases, some
insurance companies will cover the expense.
Fortunately, though, the cost of the medications
is reasonable and they work well for many
people, preventing the need for hair transplants
as a balding treatment.
