Ambulance
Service
In case of an emergency,
it is often necessary to call an ambulance
service. An ambulance is a vehicle which is
outfitted particularly for transporting sick
and/or injured people. It is basically a mini-hospital
on wheels.
Though most local hospitals
or cities have their own ambulances that come
out when they are called, in the event that
you need to transport a sick person from one
area to another, you may want to contact a
private ambulance service. These services
may or may not be covered by insurance and
Medicare, so you will want to be sure to get
all pertinent billing and fee information
before hiring an ambulance service.
More importantly, you
want to be sure the ambulance service has
all the proper credentials and permits necessary
for transporting ill people. Never hire an
inferior ambulance service that cannot produce
these credentials along with the medical credentials
of their health care providers. Each state
will have its own requirements for transporting
sick and injured people, so make sure that
the ambulance service you choose is licensed
both where the patient is and where he or
she will be going as well.
